Tropical Beachside Pacific Palms Wedding : Bec + Joey

Bec and Joey’s wedding in Pacific Palms was an incredible event to photograph. The photos of their special day turned out to be some of my favourites yet!

What I loved most about this wedding was the relaxed vibe. The first time I met Rebecca, the bride, she told me that one of the main reasons they had chosen Pacific Palms as the location for their wedding was because they didn’t have a curfew to finish up the reception. They were able to dance around and party until whatever time they pleased. I knew at this point that this wedding was going to be fun and I wanted to be a part of it.

The Styling

The stunning styling by Newcastle-based The Wedding Designer radiated a tropical feel and gave this wedding a personality of its own. There were a variety of big tropical leaves and greenery hanging from the ceiling and a cute teepee with comfy cushions and plants, along with an array of stylish beachy furniture. The surf club was turned into a tropical paradise. The ceremony on the beach had a beautifully decorated standing arch and cute chairs. It was perfect styling for such a lovely tropical wedding.

Wedding Day Surfing

Being born and bred on the Northern Beaches, Joey didn’t want to miss out on his early morning surf, so the boys headed to the beach in the morning to catch some waves and relax before getting ready. The aqua blue waves contrasted with the amazing white sand and made for some really bold photos. Pacific Palms itself differentiated my photos from a lot of other beach weddings because the colours all around really popped and didn’t need any boosting, that’s how it actually looked. The aqua and white looked incredible against the greenery at the ceremony.

A Photographer’s Inspiration

Every time I go somewhere new, I feel totally inspired by my new surroundings. It’s why I always wanted to be a Travel Photographer and try to see as many places as I can. It also gives me more opportunities for my photos to look better in every way. It was a pleasure to shoot Bec and Joey’s special day. The styling, location and party made this relaxed tropical vibe one of the most enjoyable weddings I have photographed.
