Outdoor Rustic Wedding in Yarramalong : Meaghan + Phil

As outdoor rustic wedding receptions go, Meaghan and Phil’s Wedding was one of the most incredible I have ever seen. Set in the countryside of the NSW Central Coast at Yarramalong Valley Farmstay.

The couple had let me know in advance that they had some pretty cool plans in mind, but I was blown away when I arrived and saw the natural rustic setting they had built.

Homemade Rustic Timber Structures and Furniture

Grown on the family’s land, Phil had selected and felled a number of trees, which he had then transported to the venue. With these logs, they had created six natural teepee-like tripods, which surrounded a long wooden table and supported strings of fairy lights to illuminate the night-time outdoor scene. Along each side of the 70-person table were unique vintage and pre-loved chairs.

Most people would be concerned with such a brave plan, as to what would happen if it should rain. Well, I have absolutely no idea what that plan may have been because Meaghan was determined that it wouldn’t be something that they would need to consider! Happily, she turned out to be correct, the weather stayed fine, and their guests sat, ate, chatted and danced under the stars.

The team behind The Wild Rabbit provided an absolute feast for the guests, along with a beautiful grazing table, with food that seemed to tie in with the surroundings perfectly. The bar was equally rustic, thanks to the Li’l Darlin Mini Bar, and Hunter Valley live band Phonic kept the music flowing.

The homemade theme didn’t stop with the styling either. It also extended through to all the flowers, which were actually handmade from the pages of a book by Meaghan’s Aunt.

Throughout the day, Phil’s enthusiasm and just pure joy at marrying his beautiful new wife were infectious. The couple’s smiles, laughter and genuine happiness were clear for all to see. It was an honour to be a part of their big day and to be the Photographer who got to document their incredible creations!
