Without question every wedding is unique, but we have to admit to being a bit of a sucker for something a little different and a individual when it comes to wedding styling.
We recently met Chrissie Georgie – The Girl with Pink Hair, who is very much into the Rockabilly scene, and after a long chat we decided we should do something together to have fun with her style, and to show our Brides just how and inexpensive it can be to put together a simple, unique wedding that is all them!
Having been in the industry for a long time, we have seen a wide variety of ideas and concepts. One thing we have found though is that it can be all too easy to get swept up in the wedding business, the long list of decisions to make and trying to tie all the looks and little elements together into a cohesive whole.
For our shoot, the majority of the clothes and accessories were the model and stylists’ own. We did have a word with Suicide Glam, a local Central Coast and online shop who were able to help us out with the bridesmaids’ dresses, which can be bought for as little as $60. Aside from that though, we had no real expenses. We grabbed a group of friends and headed to a little country homestead for the day, owned by a friend of our ‘groom’.
The location was gorgeous, and when it comes to it you should really ask yourself what it is you want from your big day. Some people have been dreaming of the big wedding day their whole lives, others might prefer something smaller. Your wedding is first and foremost about you and your partner making a commitment to each other in front of your nearest and dearest, and the low key, back to basics (albeit with some beautiful little touches) might be the way for you to go…
