This Engagement Shoot in the Botanical Gardens must rank as taking the longest ever for me from initial contact to the actual thing. John and Claire’s friends decided an Engagement Shoot would be a fantastic present for their newly engaged friends and bought them a voucher at a wedding fair. However, the days they were available were so limited, and then with one illness and another, the couple travelled back to their native Ireland, got married, came back to Sydney and carried on their newlywed life and then finally we managed to line things up! The ‘Engagement Shoot’ had now become a Post-Wedding Shoot, a ‘Honeymoon Shoot’ you could say…
I spoke to John a number of times on the phone and I was convinced he was Scottish. Turns out I was wrong. Oops!
Maybe the Gods were trying to tell us something when we couldn’t get a date to line up though, because when we met a couple of months ago everything came together beautifully. The sun poked itself through the trees of the Botanical Gardens and wrapped itself around the city buildings, providing a stunning backdrop for their chosen spot…a view of the famous Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
As a collection of pictures to send back home to the other side of the world, you really couldn’t get much more iconic….
